This is just one photo of many. To say we are proud of our G.I.HAUL® Tampa Bay team would be a complete understatement.

Last week we got a call from a local automotive auction firm that sits on many acres. The property’s southeast corner is highly populated with trees, vegetation, and a fence line that separates the property from interstate I4. For whatever reason, the business was unaware the wooded area inside the fence line was their property. A homeless camp had been set up there for approximately five years, and they received a notice from the state that they needed to clean up the area.

On Thursday, 02/25/2022, we received a phone call from the business, that same day went on-site to provide an in-person estimate, submitted our estimate at the close of business, and the following day received acceptance of our bid.

We told the property manager it would take us a day and a half to complete the task. We gave this timeline thinking we would have the manpower we typically have on a big job like this. Unfortunately, we had some of our team unable to participate in this job for various reasons.

Even with the man shortage, we didn’t gripe, complain, or, more importantly, doubt ourselves to complete the timeline. The second biggest challenge we faced was the distance between our truck and the homeless camp itself. In this picture, our truck was approximately 400 paces away from the job site itself. It didn’t matter, the team pulled together and did whatever we had to do to accomplish the mission. We started this job Friday at 8:00 AM and finished it at approximately noon on Saturday. This one picture is just a snapshot, and 1/4 of what we had to deal with.
